The Hungarian Hydrocarbon Stockpiling Association was established under Act No. XLIX of 1993 on the strategic stockpiling of imported crude oil and petroleum products. The Association currently operates in accordance with Act No. XXIII of 2013 on the strategic stockpiling of imported crude oil and petroleum products and Act No. XXVI of 2006 on the strategic stockpiling of natural gas as other incorporated entity responsible for ensuring the stockholding of the Hungarian emergency hydrocarbon reserves.
